Planning has started to expand the Bathurst Skate Park. The extension will provide more obstacles that will cater to different skill levels and riding disciplines. The contractor, Convic, will host a workshop at 5.30pm at BMEC to seek input from the community and ideas for what should be included in the design. Author talks at the library: defending human rights. Speakers from the United Nations Canberra office and Amnesty International will discuss human rights and where we stand in regards to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The talks will start at 1pm.

Bathurst Gardeners’ Club’s Spring Spectacular 2018 will be held this Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28. See a beautiful collection of town and country gardens large and small. The theme this year is “Enchanted gardens – discover, delight, inspire!”. Look for the fairy houses hidden away in each garden. Get tickets from the Bathurst Information Centre or any show garden. Cost: $20 per person (gives access to all gardens).
Gates will open at 8am for the 141st Annual Carcoar Show: livestock, produce, horses, prime lambs, cattle, wool, whip-cracking, yard dog trials and shearing. Opening the show this year will be shearer Mel Johnston.
