John Fitzpatrick Constructions and Guided Paradigm Consultants had made submissions for funding under the 2018-19 Bathurst Access Improvement for Small Businesses grants.
The submissions were considered by executive members of the Bathurst Regional Access Committee (BRAC), which determined both businesses had met the criteria to receive funding.
John Fitzpatrick Constructions will use the $5000 to assist in the installation of an accessible toilet.
Guided Paradigm Consultants plans to install an accessible ramp, toilet, parking and all required signage as part of the new build component and upgrade to the existing building in Eglinton.
While both businesses have been successful in their grant applications, their receipt of the funds will not exempt them from requiring development application approval from council for the works.
As there was $15,000 allocated for the 2018-19 grants, the remaining $5000 will be held for any further businesses to apply for during this financial year,
Businesses who would like to put forward a submission for funding should contact council on 6333 6111.
