Bathurst Regional Council has provided more details for the work on the precinct, which was announced last week.
The $6.2 million plan for the precinct – funded by $3.6m from council and $2.6m from the NSW Government – comes less than a year since the St Pat’s rugby league club started using its new home at the river end of Hereford.

Mayor Graeme Hanger says two new fields and a new amenities building to service them will be built between the existing Bathurst Bulldogs rugby union and St Pat’s complexes next year.
A roundabout to make it easier to get into the precinct will be built in 2020 and the new 1400-space car park will be built in two stages in 2021 and 2022.
All works are expected to be completed by 2022.
The two new fields will make a total of six fields in the Hereford Street precinct, which council hopes will attract major events and carnivals.
“Council sees the benefit to the local economy in investing and growing our local sporting facilities to enable them to host large-scale regional and state events,” Cr Hanger said.
“In addition, it has benefits to local sporting clubs to further grow and develop sports.”
The announcement of the investment in Hereford Street comes a fortnight after it was confirmed Bathurst had been selected to host a round of the 2020 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup.
That was considered a coup for council, which built a new $1.5 million BMX track to host the national titles in 2016.
Cr Hanger said the development of a Hereford Street sporting precinct had been a long-term plan for council.
“This development is part of ongoing improvements to service both rugby union and rugby league,” he said.
“Two rugby union fields and the clubhouse were constructed in 2006, and this year two rugby league fields and clubhouse were completed.”
