Seven of the courts at the complex have already been upgraded with a new rubber composite acrylic surface and now the final court can receive its much-needed makeover.
Bathurst Netball Association president Tina Muller said it’s great news.
“It’s fantastic. The court was unusable, so having the new surface on that court allows us to finish up all our courts,” she said.
“We’re pretty full down here, so having the court usable is a pretty good thing.
“The courts are being used every Saturday in winter, as well as different competitions like School Cup and our own Bathurst Carnival and afternoon training.”
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the wider community is set to benefit from the netball courts’ upgrade.
“The Bathurst Netball Association will have the opportunity to attract regional and state competitions as well as further increasing local participation in this very popular sport,” he said.
There are 19 clubs that currently train and compete in the Bathurst Netball Association, with 1300 players registered in the 2018 season.
