This Saturday afternoon the Bathurst talent will line up for Sydney FC’s Youth League outfit in its FYL season opener against the Newcastle Jets.
It is a chance he earned after finding the back of the net 19 times in 25 performances for the National Premier League’s outfit in 2018.
Lamberton, who will wear number nine on his back, is set to pair with his NPL striking partner Jordi Swibel up front.
His team-mates also include the likes of Young Socceroos goalkeeper Duro Dragicevic and Joeys captain captain Ryan Teague.
They will be guided by Giancarlo Italiano, a man who has previously worked with Lamberton as part of the under 20s squad.

“I'm excited to introduce a new generation of young players into the FYL environment. Our squad is a mix of talented, creative and disciplined individuals that will form the basis of a competitive team,” Italiano said.
“I’m also excited that Liam McGing will lead the team as captain. Both on and off the pitch he will be a great role model for the younger lads.

Sydney FC kick off its19 FYL season against the Jets at Newcastle at 4.30pm on Saturday.
