Some sections of the popular Bathurst Adventure Playground will be temporarily closed from Monday, November 12 for repair works to rubber softfall surfaces.
Staged works, which are expected to take a week, will take place near the carousel and adjacent swing bay, the giant slide, flying fox bay, sandpit and small slide.
The areas will reopen once the softfall has cured and dried.
Mayor Graeme Hanger said the high patronage the Adventure Playground has experienced over the years has resulted in the deterioration of the rubber softfall surfaces in some areas and repair works were required to ensure the surfaces met the required standards.
“The new rubber softfall surfaces ensure the safety and minimise the risk of injury for everyone who uses the area,” Cr Hanger said.
“Our commitment to maintaining and improving our playgrounds, parks and reserves ensure that everyone can continue to enjoy outdoor living spaces now and into the future.”

Just four weeks until the Carols
LOOK away now if you’re one of those people worried that the years seem to be fly by more quickly every year ...
It’s hard to believe there are just four weeks to go until the community comes together again for the traditional Carols By Candlelight in Machattie Park.
And this year is the 40th anniversary of the carols, making this year’s celebration a special one.
Mitchell Conservatorium will again co-ordinate the carols evening on Sunday, December 9 which is again being sponsored by Reliance Bank.
The carols will feature some of Bathurst’s outstanding local performers leading sing-alongs of all the Christmas favourites, along with the traditional visit from Santa.
Bring your blanket and chairs, pack your picnic and get along to Machattie Park to celebrate Christmas with all of Bathurst.
Parade has been to plenty of carols night and can assure you that Bathurst’s is one of the best.
