KerryAnn Turner’s contender was sent out as a $2 chance in the Carnival of Cups meeting’s feature event and surged to the front of the field with two laps remaining.

That charge to the head of the field took little out of the Artsplace gelding who bolted clear in the home stretch to win by 10m under the guidance of Josh Gallagher.

Ned Pepper ($4.20) and Master Benny ($19.80) filled the minor placings.

Dance For Glory was one of four horses the Menangle trainer sent to Blayney, but the only one to feature in the placings.

“It’s always good to go out to the country tracks when there’s good prizemoney on offer. It’s great to support the Carnival of Cups,” Turner said.

“He’s a handy enough horse. We were more than happy with his run and hopefully there’s a few more runs like that in store for him.

“He’s raced at Penrith, Bankstown and places like that many times so I didn’t think the track would affect him as such. Josh handled him really well and it was great to get the win.

“He’s been a nice horse for us over the last year or so. We’ve got a team of horses heading away to Queensland this Sunday and he’s going to head up there to race for the next three weeks.”

Master Benny kept up with Dance For Glory around the turn for home but still had two lengths to make up in the closing stages.

Wayne White’s runner faded over the final 100m to be swallowed up by Ned Pepper but Gallagher was able to ease his leader home for a dominant win.

Bathurst trainers took out all other seven races on the program.

It was a big day for Bernie Hewitt who claimed four of those wins through We Salute You, Royal Story, Scarlet Babe and Mackeral.
