Quinn spent almost the entirety of his team’s innings out in the middle to help Macquarie record 154 runs at Bathurst’s Morse Park 2. He hit nine boundaries on his way to 90 runs.
Macquarie wicketkeeper Sienkiewicz (49) combined with Quinn for a 106-run third wicket stand.
An accurate Macquarie attack limited Mitchell’s efforts with the bat and the hosts were left stranded at 9-116 at the end of their 50 overs.
“It was really just that one partnership. We had them at 3-11 early on but then that partnership happened. We had a couple of chances but they were fifty-fifty ones at best,” Mitchell coach Bill Hall said.
“As soon as we broke that partnership we got the last seven wickets for just over 30 runs. Keeping them to 150 was still a good target for us to chase down.
“In the middle session we let them control things too much with their spinners and we didn’t keep moving along. We got bogged down and were left with too much to do in the last part.
“It’s a learning experience. There’s a lot of younger blokes in our team and they’re getting there.”

Anugs Parsons and Connor Whale had identical best bowling figures for Mitchell of 3-25. Parsons was also the top scoring batsman with 23.
Lachlan Rummans was the pick of the Macquarie bowlers with an economical 2-12 off his 10 overs.
The under 14s competition is shaping up as an exciting race to the final.
Lachlan, Macquarie and Mitchell have each recorded a win from the opening three rounds.
“The unfortunate thing for us in our next game is that we lose four of our players because they will be trialling for the under 13 State Challenge,” Hall said.
