Kirby and Renshaw rode off the same mark in the race around Perthville’s two roads course, both benefiting from some wind assistance before the breeze changed direction on their rivals.
Along St Johns Road Kirby consolidated her lead while Renshaw held off a challenge for silver ahead of Kalinda Robinson.
Robinson only a day earlier had enjoyed a win in the Western Division Track Championships wheelrace.
The race’s namesake rode home in fourth while Laura Renshaw filled out the top five.
Gallagher said it was great to see female riders coming out to Perthville to support the event.
“Our numbers were the same as what they’ve been and the race brought back another lady who comes every year, our winner Claire, who signs up for the one day licence and has a race,” she said.
“We saw another lady who hadn’t raced for a while and I feel that’s the purpose of the event, to get people out there who want to ride but aren’t sure about racing.
“Claire and Marian had a tailwind up to Rockley Road while the rest of us got a headwind, which gave them effectively a 10 minute bonus on the field. That was the winning advantage right there.”

Donna Scott, Gemma Carter, Rosemary Hastings, Kirsten Howard and Jodie Martin completed the remainder of the top 10.
Two-time race winner Howard completed the course in the fastest time.
There was to be no repeat of Howard’s scorching ride from last year where she took out the race from scratch.
