Earlier this month Manly duo Ward and Yool as well as Easts talent Abra were named in an 87-player Junior Wallabies training squad, from which a national side will be selected to attend both Oceania and World Under 20s Championships next year.
Competition for spots in the final team will be stiff, so last week after being named in the NSW Waratahs Academy, that trio soaked up all the information they could.
They join 34 others in the 12-month academy program where they will receive not only specialist technical and tactical coaching, but work on their mental strength and nutrition.
NSW Waratahs Academy head coach Shannon Fraser feels those selected to take part in the program have the potential to go on and join the elite ranks.
The Waratahs Academy serves as an important step towards players such as Abra, Yool and Ward going on to Super Rugby, something fellow Stannies graduate Beau Robinson did.

“We have selected the best young talent in the state who have shown the potential during recent schoolboy fixtures, club rugby and the newly launched Under 19 Rugby Championship who we believe can go on and play Super Rugby and beyond,” Fraser said.
“The aim of the program is to introduce them to the discipline it takes to be a professional player, on and off the field.”
