To help him get his donations to the school, the only one of its kind in the district catering for students of all disabilities, Reggie, with the help of his teachers, is holding a mufti day on Friday.
His fellow students are being asked to donate a gold coin, and come dressed as an islander.
He will also be selling sarongs and flower leis.
Principal of Bathurst High School, Ken Barwick, said Reggie put out a call for donations earlier his year and has received school supplies, nappies and other items for the students at Sigatoka. Such was the success of his appeal he needed help to get the items overseas.
Mr Barwick said Reggie was an icon at the school, and had a lot of support from his peers to help his goals. The school’s SRC donated a laminating machine.
Reggie will be in Fiji next year to deliver the donated items, with students and staff at Sigatoka, who will be on holidays when he arrives, making the effort to come to school for the day to meet with him.
