By 5pm Wednesday, a total of 40.4 millimetres had fallen across Bathurst, 28mm of which had fallen before 9am.
The high volume of rain gave a great boost to the monthly figure, which, according to Weatherzone, sat at 46.9mm before the massive downpour.
Although the rain was welcomed after very dry conditions throughout 2018, it caused problems for some residents.
Bathurst NSW State Emergency Service (SES) duty officer, Zeak Smith, said calls for help started early in the morning.
“We’ve been out since about 9am [Wednesday] morning,” he said.
“We’ve done, in total, six jobs, some fairly major ones.”
With it being a Wednesday, he said it was hard to secure volunteers, but there was a team of three attending to incidents.
Mr Smith expected the pressure would come off on Thursday, with conditions forecast to return to normal.
Anyone who requires assistance can call the SES for help.
“If there are any concerns or any potential issues, please call our state number 132 500 and we’ll definitely send a team out to do an inspection,” Mr Smith said.
