The Bathurst and District Hobos and Panorama Motorcycle clubs’ Salvation Army Christmas Appeal Toy Run had to be conducted in cars last year, rather than on motorcycles, because of the sodden weather.
On Saturday, however, the sky was clear and the sun was beating down as the riders travelled from the Bathurst Showground to the Salvation Army headquarters on Stewart Street – via the Bridge Hotel at Perthville, Neville Hotel, Royal Hotel at Mandurama, Royal Hotel at Carcoar and Blayney Bowling Club.

Along the way, they collected toys to make Christmas a little brighter for those in need this December.
“It went really well,” Hobos Motorcycle Club president Rose Hancock said. “It was a great day, though a bit hot.”
The Hobos and Panorama clubs were joined by Easy Riders in making the run.
“We had a great response from all of the venues,” Ms Hancock said. “They all really pulled out all the stops to help us.”
The Blayney Bowling Club supplied a free lunch for the riders and $650 in cash was collected along the way – including the proceeds from meat raffles run by the Bridge Hotel in the lead-up to the toy run – to be used for vouchers for teenagers for Christmas.
”People are really very generous when it comes to this sort of thing,” Ms Hancock said.
