Bathurst will celebrate New Year’s Eve with its annual Party in the Park, hosted by Bathurst Regional Council. Here is everything you need to know about the event:

Where is it?
- At the Adventure Playground (Victoria Park), on the corner of Durham and Hope streets

What time does it start?
- The festivities begin at 4pm and will conclude just after 9pm.
What entertainment will there be?
- $2 rides
- A free jumping castle for the kids
- A photobooth at a cost of $2 per group
- Live music provided by Sweet Revenge (4pm), Matt Boylan-Smith (5.30pm) and Bootleggers (7pm)
- All of the play equipment at the Adventure Playground
Will there be any fireworks?
- A fireworks display will kick off at 9pm and run for approximately 10 minutes. It will be provided by Howard and Sons Pyro Technics.
Will there be any food available?
- A number of food and beverage vendors will be available in the park, including Mr Fish and Chips, Twisted Chip, Mr Whippy, Aroma and Melissa’s Cotton Candy. People are also invited to bring their own picnics. People are asked not to bring their own barbecues.
What is there is an accident?
- A St John’s Ambulance tent is set up on the corner of Durham and Mitre streets to provide medical assistance. There will also be a police presence at the event.
What are the parking options available?
- There is limited parking available in the streets surrounding the park. People are encouraged to carpool and make use of the drop off points. In addition to this, please note the following road closures and changes to traffic conditions:
- Durham Street temporary closure between Hope and Mitre Streets
- Mitre Street temporary closure between Durham and Howick Streets
- Howick Street temporary closure between Mitre and Hope Streets
- Hope Street temporary closure between Hoick and Durham Streets
- Loftus Street temporary closure
- The diversion of Durham Street traffic to Peel, Morrisset and Commonwealth Streets
- The diversion of Howick Street traffic to Peel, Russell and Commonwealth Streets
- Parking bays along Morrisset Street will be closed
- Taxi zone on Howick Street near Victoria Park to be moved in front of the Bathurst Hospital on Howick Street
- Temporary drop off/ pick up zones installed at each set of closure points
Will there be disabled parking?
- Disabled parking will be located at John Matthew Sporting Complex.
