The defending Western Zone Premier League champions must beat Cowra at Scots to not only keep its title hopes alive, but climb off the bottom of the ladder.
Bathurst skipper Jameel Quershi feels it is the responsibility of those who will play to build on past successes.
“Bathurst cricket’s been building for a fair while, it started with Russell Gardner, Dan Casey has done a lot of hard work, guys like Fearnz [Matt Fearnley] - there have been a lot of people that have put in a lot of hard work for Bathurst District Cricket,” Qureshi said.
“I look at it as our responsibility to make sure we turn up and get some good results.
“We just have to concentrate on what we have to do on Sunday and then go from there.”

With a loss and a tie from its two Western Zone matches thus far, and matches against Cowra and Orange to come, Bathurst not only needs to win but do so convincingly to be a chance of making the decider.
Qureshi acknowledges beating Cowra is not an easy assignment, but he also has confidence in his side to get the job done. Bathurst can bat right down to number 11 and has plenty of options with the ball.
“Cowra have got a pretty good team, they won't be easy, I'm not sure if the Berrys are playing on Michael Curtale, but they've got a premier side anyway,” he said.

“I know I always say it, but the side we have for Sunday is very special to be a part of. Everyone enjoys each others' company and anyone can do a job for us - it’s been shown over the last couple of years.
“It's a testament to the side we have got, the depth we have got, that anyone can come in and do the job in any position at any time. It certainly makes my job as captain a lot easier.”
Sunday’s game at Scots starts at 10am.
