And it’ll be two endurance races in the space of just over a week, with a majority of the team featuring at the recent 24 Hours of Daytona, which ran from January 26 to 27.
The team will be inside a Porsche 911 GT3 R, with Jeroen Bleekemolen, from Netherlands, Marc Lieb, from Germany, and Tim Pappas, from the United States, to be behind the wheel for the team, the same lineup as last year expect for German driver Luca Stolz, who will not feature in 2019.
Half of the Black Swan Racing team arrived in Bathurst on Tuesday, after departing Daytona at the start of the race, with the other half of the team leaving Florida after the finish of the race.
The rest of the team was expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon.
Team manager Chris Barber said it’s been a “logistical puzzle” in getting the team to Mount Panorama.
“We have four mechanics and the crew total, drivers included, is 18,” he said.
“We had five guys come here with me early. The rest of crew are coming from Daytona, because they actually had to do the race, so it’s kind of a logistical puzzle piece getting us here.”
Team driver Bleekemolen finished 23rd at Daytona, alongside Felipe Fraga, Ben Keating and Stolz, with the Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsports team.
Fellow driver Tim Pappas drove with the Black Swan Racing team, alongside Marco Seefried, Dirk Werner and Matteo Cairoli, the quartet finished 36th.
While Barber said another podium would be great, the obvious goal for his team is to win the race.
“Obviously to win would be great, then to get on the podium,” he said.
“Staying out of trouble is huge. I think staying out of trouble here or in any endurance race is the key to winning it.
“As long as you have some sort of pace. It doesn’t matter how fast you are, you need to get out of the trouble.
“Here, as of last year, it was amazing with the amount of wrecks. We were lucky to get through it unscathed. We’ll be looking for the same outcome.”
Practice for 12 Hour drivers gets underway on Friday, four sessions held throughout the day.
