Darryn Bruce will once again captain the division one side, with a few changes to the Bathurst line-up across the four divisions.

“We’ve had a few different players join this year but we’ve got a regular in Reece Hodson. He’ll be our number one golfer. He’s almost good enough to be a pro,” he said.

“We’ve got Justin Sutton in division one and I’ll be playing him from number two. He’s a new chap from Parkes who’s just moved to Bathurst and Justin is playing off a handicap of three.

“Matthew Phillips has been going really well. He’s in some excellent form. He’s playing off a handicap of three and I’ll have him as the number three. 

“Ben Mackey will be number four and I’ll probably be playing from number five. I’ll have Zayne Beale, Adam Hodges and Ben Matherson as the reserves.”

Bruce expects Cowra to be tough. 

“I haven’t talked to the guys from Cowra recently, but I’d imagine they would have a similar team from recent years,” he said.

“They always have a close run with us, but I’d expect our top three to get the win.”

During the 2019 pennants campaign, Bathurst will be in a group with Cowra, Parkes and Forbes, while another group will feature Duntryleague, Mudgee, Wellington and Dubbo. 

Bruce expects Mudgee to be the team to beat this season.

He’s also hopeful that Bathurst’s division two and three sides can go back-up their performances from last year.

“I’m looking forward to how division two and division three go this year, after winning last year,” he said.

“I’m also looking forward to division four going better than last year.”
