While Moana-Veale spends a bulk of the year competing overseas, she returned to Australia last November.
She won the sprint distance 2XU series opener at Elwood and backed that up with another win in round three at St Kilda.
Sunday’s fourth round, again at Elwood, saw her cover the 750 metres swim, 20 kilometre cycle and 5km run course in a time of 1:01.379 to place second behind Sophie Chase (1:01.105).
The result was good enough to keep her in the overall series lead.
She clocked the third best swim split (10:48) and second fastest run (18.04.2) of the 17 elite female competitors.
“The ol leggies only good enough for second this morning … but we still had fun,” Moana-Veale posted on Instagram.
