And his trainer Lynn Maney, from Wimbledon, will be hoping it's a sign for the upcoming 2019 AFL season.
Be Harvey, who was baked at $2.90 odds, is named after former North Melbourne small forward Brent Harvey, who played a league record 432 games between 1996 and 2016.
Maney is staunch Kangaroos supporter, but her husband Michael Maney will be hoping it's not a sign for things to come.
"I don't think [Kangaroos] will win too many games this year. That's what I tell her, but I'm a Melbourne fan so I can't say much," Michael Maney laughed.
"His name is Be Harvey but his kennel name is Boomer [Brent Harvey's nickname].
"My wife is a North Melbourne nut, I mean a NUT! He's a little boy, only 28 kilograms and when he was born she said, 'That's Boomer! We'll call him Be Harvey when he starts racing'.
"We tried to get Fourthreetwo, that's how many games he played. But they wouldn't give it to us."
For the race, Be Harvey started from box six and in the light rain, the two-year-old black dog jumped the best, just getting ahead of Gotta Be Mac ($5) in the first 100 metres.
We tried to get Fourthreetwo.

But Be Harvey was never really challenged and ended up finishing a comfortable 2.25 lengths ahead of Gotta Be Mac in second, with Can Delight ($6) running home in third.
The win was Be Harvey's first win since February 18, also at Kennerson Park, in the same time of 28.4 seconds over the same distance of 307 metres.
"We're really wrapped with how he's been going," Maney said.
"We gave him a trial earlier on the week and he went well. He's a good little beginner dog."
