Lamberton, who signed for the Sky Blues from Sydney United 58 in late 2017, was bumped up to the A-League side's NPL first grade squad after spending the 2018 season in the under 20s team.
Lamberton's goal came in the 16th minute of Sydney FC's match against Manly United, after some fancy foot work from Lamberton got him around the opposition's defence and he slotted the ball between the keeper's legs to level the scores at 1-1.

Neither team managed to score another goal and the match finished in a stalemate.
"I played well last week and had one really good chance which I couldn't put away, but I was really happy to finally get my first one for first grade," Lamberton said.
"To score within my first two games has made me really happy, but I'm just hoping to continue my scoring from here."
Lamberton's selection in the team of the week was alongside former A-League players Devante Clut and Marko Jesic, as well as ex-Cerezo Osaka forward Takeru Okada.
"I was really happy with that and I only played 60 minutes because I got a card and I didn't want to risk a second when we were defending the game," he said.
"To make the influence and impress the reporters for the team of the week was really good."
Next week, Lamberton and Sydney FC will take on former National Soccer League heavyweights Marconi Stallions at Lambert Park on Saturday, March 23.
The match will be live streamed on the NSW NPL's Facebook page.
