This program has a long history on 2MCE, commencing in the early 1980s. Some of you may remember this poster from the time advertising the program.

While this started as a service for the print handicapped, it is also a great way for busy people to catch up with what's in the paper.

The Talking Newspaper is also a fantastic way to get involved with 2MCE without having to present or produce an entire program.

By reading articles, including the death and funeral notices from the Central Western Daily or  Western Advocate, you provide an invaluable community service. New readers are paired with a more experienced reader who will operate the radio panel and make sure you sound great!

SOMEONE who has moved from The Talking Newspaper to his own program is Nick, who presents The Music of Gaming on Wednesdays at 1pm.

This lovely little program opens with the cute Mii Parade tune from the Nintendo Wii platform and Nick proceeds to talk about the music of current and past video games.

Last week he played great music from 2009's Dragon Age Origins, as well as music from Crisis Two. Nick also briefly discusses each game.

If you enjoy classical music, I am sure you will enjoy Nick's program The Music of Gaming.
