Stannies teams across every Independant Schools Association rugby union age division were in attendance, looking to build pre-season cohesion, while the school also offered union and league coaching clinics for primary school students.
Cricket season isn't quite over for some students but that didn't lessen their enthusiasm to go up to the school on Saturday afternoon to fuel their winter sport cravings.
It was a busy weekend for the college who conducted the clinics in conjunction with their open day.
The school's head of sport, David Burke, said the day was a great showcase of the school's sporting stocks across a range of age groups.
"We launched our rugby season with a skills clinic, where each age division went around five different drills with five different coaches," he said.
"We got some external coaches in and they put them through their paces for almost three hours.
"On the main oval the 1st XV, who had trained in the morning, put some primary school kids who had come up for the open day through some drills and skills, with a league and union version for that.
"It's great to get some outside voices and coaches in to reinforce ideas, rather than the teachers."

Around 30 primary school kids took part in the skills session, which ran for an hour.
Among that group could be the next big thing for Stannies.
The school has prided itself on a strong rugby union program in the ISA competition and their 2017 opens division one title remains the biggest highlight in recent years.
Burke is hopeful that more great times are to come for the school across all age groups.
"That 2017 season we picked up five ISA premierships and last year we got six," he said.
"While we finished second in the firsts last year that was still an outstanding achievement. Picking up six titles across our age groups was great, and there's some good depth there.
"The under 16s have won the ISA premiership for the last couple of years, as has 14s and 15s. Geoff Melville's 14s for this year won the 13As from last year.
"When you look further into the distance, when you've got our A teams winning ISA comps that's very positive for the school."
A draw is yet to be released for the upcoming ISA rugby season while the first round of matches are scheduled to take place on May 4.
