THERE hasn't been much joy for Centennials Bulls in Bathurst District Cricket Association's first grade competition this season but the same can't be said of their second grade side who have the opportunity to land a grand final spot this weekend.

Bulls bowlers Dennis Callen (5-36) and Jamie Wicks (4-30) took City Colts apart in the minor semi-final last weekend while Saeed Bashir (82) was excellent with the bat.
Centennials will need more big efforts from the attack this Saturday and Sunday when they play a Bathurst City side eager to earn a rematch with St Pat's Old Boys Blue in the decider.
Redbacks captain Rory Daburger (5-28) had a season-best performance with the ball in the major semi-final against Pat's but the team fell 57 runs short in their chase during a day where partnerships were few and far between.
Bulls appear to be peaking at the right time of the season having won their past four matches.
However, Bathurst City reigned in the previous meeting between the clubs.
Centennials' middle order was crushed in that November meeting by the first of Jay Cleary's two five-wicket hauls for the season.
Redbacks went on to chase down the target of 105 at the loss of five wickets.
There's been a lot of cricket between that match and now, with both clubs having their reasons to feel confident ahead of the weekend's action.
St Pats Old Boys Blue await the winner, and the club will be looking to continue their dominance in the second tier.
Pat's have won three of the past four seasons and locked out the 2017-18 decider with both of their teams.
Bathurst City still have the chance to win their second title in the space of three years.
This weekend's play at George Park 1 starts from 11am.
