He will be relieved to know that Sustainable Australia, a new centre party, did not direct preferences. We believe that people can make up their own minds.
He may also like to know that we had a total of 76 candidates across the state. We had more candidates than the National Party and more than any other minor party.

Our local candidate, Michael Begg, received almost 1500 votes or nearly three per cent. This was achieved with one article in the Western Advocate, almost no budget and literally a handful of people handing out "how to votes" at the voting centres.
This was our first election in NSW. Sustainable Australia also polled well in the upper house with between two and three per cent in early counting.
Look out for us in the forthcoming federal election.
