Mitchell Ian Brown, 22, of Durham Street, Bathurst, appeared in person and unrepresented in Bathurst Local Court before visiting Magistrate Clisdell.
The court heard Brown and the victim were drinking on February 2, 2019 and when they returned home, an argument began.
Brown started smashing up the home and the victim went into the bedroom and closed the door, according to the police facts.
Brown used force to enter the room, ripping a set of doors from the hinges and smashing a hole in the wall before punching two holes in the wall near the back door.
Scared for her wellbeing, the victim sent a text asking her friend to come and pick her up.
As the victim was waiting for the friend on the nature strip, Brown walked up and demanded she go back inside. When the victim refused, he pulled her by the right forearm towards the rear of the house, according to the police facts.
Neighbours called police.
The victim was dragged back into the home and, a short time later, the friend arrived.
Police arrived at 2.20am on Sunday, February 3 and Brown ran out the back door, sprinted up the driveway and rammed his body into the garage door, leaving a large dent, then ran toward police.
They yelled for him to stop but he used an open palm to push the officer in the chest.
The officer, fearing a violent confrontation, administered a short spray of capsicum spray to Brown's face and he was handcuffed and arrested.
In a recorded interview, Brown made admissions to assaulting and intimidating the victim but said he couldn't recall everything that occurred.
On each of the charges (stalk or intimidate with the intention to cause fear of physical harm, common assault and assaulting an officer), Brown was convicted and placed on a Community Correction Order with supervision for 12 months.
