The young Englishwoman was back in town this week as her months-long Australian adventure comes to a close and she says she will be taking back nothing but good memories.
Ms Chandler, 19, was the first young person to be sent to Bathurst under a friendship agreement with the English Cotswolds town of Cirencester, north-west of London.
Cirencester, home of the Earl Bathurst, has set up a fund to help pay for a young person aged 18 or older from the Cirencester area, who would not usually have the opportunity, to travel to Bathurst and experience a life-changing opportunity - and Ms Chandler says it has certainly been that.
There are already plans to send a second person from Cirencester to Bathurst in the future.
Ms Chandler was in Bathurst last October for three weeks, meeting councillors, members of the youth council and businesspeople and attending the Bathurst 1000, and has since travelled to other parts of the country and New Zealand.

She was back in Bathurst "to catch up with the friends I made when I was first here" before flying to Perth on Thursday. After six days in the WA capital, she will fly to Sydney and then home.
And her verdict?
"I have absolutely loved it. There has not been a single day that I have not had a good time," she said.
"I loved my time in Bathurst. It felt like I gained a little family here. I felt so welcomed here."
Ms Chandler will make a formal presentation to the team that sent her to Bathurst when she returns to Cirencester.
She said the friendship agreement has plenty of possibilities for both sides.
"I think there's only great things that can happen," she said.
"When the friendship establishes itself more, more people will be coming from Cirencester.
"There is such an interest in Cirencester to learn more about the history, culture and everything that Bathurst has to offer.
"There are economic and social possibilities."
Bathurst Regional Council has plans to send a delegation to Cirencester to formalise the friendship agreement between the communities.
