THE Bathurst community will have the chance to ask questions of the federal election's Calare candidates at an upcoming forum.
The Bathurst Branch of the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association (CPSA) has a tradition of holding candidate forums before local, state and federal elections.
The branch will hold the latest of its forums on May 2 at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre, where candidates will be given five minutes each to introduce themselves and outline their agenda and will then answer written questions from the audience at the end.
"The whole point is the four Ps: person, policies, past performance and party," Bathurst branch president John Hollis said.
"This forum puts all that up front in a non-political arena and it gives people a chance to see all the candidates together.
"It's not a political gathering. It's not focused on only one party or only one policy.
"It's a chance for the community to ask questions and for the candidates to answer."
The forum will be held as part of the regular CPSA meeting and members of the public are invited.
The meeting will start at 9.45am for 10am at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Thursday, May 2.
