Father and son Michael and David Stillwell had planned to tackle the two one-hour Production Sports races staged as part of the Bathurst 6 Hour support program.
However, Friday practice is as far as they got.
A issue with low oil pressure arose with their Ford Mustang - one which had cylinder head, camshaft, intake and fuel system upgrades prior to heading to Mount Panorama.
Rather than risk damaging the Mustang after making such a significant investment in its improvement, they decided to park up.
However, there were still reasons for the Stillwells to celebrate.
The Stillwell Motor Group, created by Michael's late father Bib Stillwell, is marking 70 years in the automotive industry in 2019. On top of that, Michael is celebrating 50 years of participation.
