The clubrooms were a buzz of activity as participants from a wide age range worked on producing polished stone items.
The hive of activity ceased when the call for morning tea went out!
The visiting men were then treated to morning tea courtesy of club members.
Great interest was shown in the sorts of work in which various club members were engaged.
The club treasurer Paul Martensz and vice-president Ian Price spoke about how raw rock was prepared for the grinding and polishing processes that are used to make the polished finished product.
The visitors were impressed with the transformation that could be achieved through grinding, shaping and polishing selected rocks or mineral material from local and other sources.
The club welcomes anyone who wishes to visit the rooms on a Wednesday morning (9am to noon) or on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
Community members of all ages can be shown the processes involved in lapidary and can become members of the club for a very low cost per year.
