The couple work together at Bathurst West Public School and Ben chose the end-of-year assembly in 2017 to pop the question in a surprise proposal in front of the entire school.
The couple have known each other since they were children, began dating four years ago and had talked about marriage, but the proposal was a complete surprise.
Aimee said "I do" then and she said it again on April 6, 2019 during their wedding ceremony at St Aubyn's on Clairvaux in Bathurst.
The Western Advocate was a special guest at Ben's proposal and, following their vows earlier this month, the couple sat down again to talk about their time since that very public proposal.

Ben was originally going to propose during Christmas, but when he confessed his plan to his work colleagues at school they convinced him to do a public proposal on the last day of term.
"I planned the assembly item, it was about what we love about Christmas," he said.
"I was nervous, it was such a long assembly and our bit was right at the end. I was pacing."
Ben then took to the stage and told those gathered: "I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't want to spend every Christmas with her and every day with her".
Ben then asked one of Aimee's former students, Orlando Wooley, then aged six, to bring out a special box.
Aimee confesses she had "no idea" her boyfriend was about to propose.
"When I saw the box I realised exactly what it was, it was just tears from then on," she said.
Before this day, Ben said Aimee had shown him so many photos of engagement rings that he jokingly threatened "if you show me one more ring it'll never happen".
"Luckily I knew she'd say yes [to his proposal]. I wasn't 100 per cent, but I was as sure as I could be," he said.
Now that the big day and honeymoon is over and they go back to school for another term, Ben as a teacher and Aimee as a student learning support officer, they agree it was the "perfect wedding day".
"It was the best day of our lives so far," Aimee said.
"I didn't know what the perfect way to propose was, but this really was the perfect way."
