Sound health is the sine qua non of a fulfilling life and access to care is crucial in rural areas especially.

Notwithstanding the cost of needlessly duplicating major health facilities in large rural centres close to each other, a city of Bathurst's significance should not have been allowed to lag behind Orange because someone, somewhere has chosen to resource one at the expense of the other.
At state level the ubiquitous Paul Toole might modify a pettifogging preoccupation with local trivia and use his burgeoning influence to amend our shortfall, while federally, Jess Jennings has an excellent opportunity to argue Labor's impressive health policies in terms of their benefits to those here in Ben Chifley's former seat as well as elsewhere in a large electorate.
