The company is planning to mark the occasion with a special event at Boxgrove on Saturday, November 9.
Devro operations director Dean Patton would like the event to recognise the contributions of all staff [past and present] to the Kelso site over the years.
"The site has a rich history, and we want to celebrate Devro's four decades of excellence in the Bathurst community," Mr Patton said.
"We manufacture around 20 per cent of Devro's demand globally, and we've experienced a significant amount of growth over the years."
Since 1979, Devro's Kelso plant has specialised in producing collagen casing for bovine products, and the site was established by 29 Scottish families.
Research chemist Simone Proust has worked at Devro for 31 years, and said the company has become like a family to her.
"This has been my world, and I've never had a desire to go anywhere else," Ms Proust said.
"I don't have any family in Bathurst, but there's a strong sense of community within the company that has kept me engaged for so many years."
Customer service supervisor Graham McNab has only been working at Devro for nine months, but he said the culture of the staff made him feel welcome straight away.
"There are numerous members of staff who have worked here for a long time, and I think that says something about the nature of this business," Mr McNab said.
"It's a very supportive environment to work in, and the staff have fostered positive relationships with each other."
Devro's Kelso site currently employs around 250 staff, and supplies numerous companies throughout Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Ms Proust said the company has provided countless opportunities over the years for people trying to establish careers in the workforce.
"There are members of staff here who commenced apprenticeships with us 20 years ago," she said.
"We've also seen people emigrate from Scotland for roles here, and the attraction of the Bathurst community has encouraged them to become Australian citizens.
"It's allowed people to have a career in the local area without having to move to a metropolitan environment."
The company is hoping to attract around 200 to 350 people to the event, which will celebrate Devro's storied association with the Bathurst community.
