Friday was forecast to see as much as 25 millimetres of rain and by 5pm had recorded 22mm at the airport.
The downpour has put Bathurst just over halfway towards its long-term average rainfall figure for May, which is 41.4mm.

According to Weatherzone, Bathurst is unlikely to see another rainy day until Wednesday, where there is a 60 per cent chance of up to 5mm.
The rainy day comes after more talk about the dwindling water supply in Chifley Dam.
The latest reading found that the dam had dropped to 43.1 per cent, down one per cent from the previous week.
In speaking to the Western Advocate, councillor Jess Jennings said he was concerned that Bathurst wouldn't receive a vital recharge over the winter months.
