This week, it came to light that former Formula 1 star Jenson Button was at the iconic circuit over the Bathurst 6 Hour race event.
And, as it turns out, on April 22 he set a new benchmark lap time for a front wheel drive production road car, posting a time of 2:35.207.
The lap time was set in a Honda Civic Type R as part of the Japanese brand's Type R Challenge 2019 road tour and the 50 years of Honda in Australia celebrations.
In a video released by Honda Australia, which can be found on YouTube, you get to see some of Button's attempts before ultimately setting a new record.
"Good to hear, good to hear, sounds good to me," he said over the radio after hearing his time.
Button went on to say that Australia was a special place for him, and Parade can only imagine Mount Panorama is too.

IMPORTANT TIME TO BE FIRE SAFE
PARADE has been feeling the cold this week, as has much of Bathurst.
And as a result of the changing temperatures, Bathurst Fire and Rescue NSW has issued a reminder to residents about being safe over the cooler months.
The station's list of tips includes turning off heaters and electric blankets before leaving home or getting into bed, cleaning lint filters in the dryer before or after each use, and not overloading power boards.
People were also reminded to be be careful when turning a heater on for the first time and to keep everything in the house at least one metre away from the appliance.
Of course, the most important thing that people need to do, regardless of the season, is to ensure smoke alarms are in working order.

Another opportunity to get advice will be at the Fire and Rescue NSW open day on May 18.
Visitors can speak to firefighters first-hand about fire safety in the home, take tours of stations and see some of the equipment used by firefighters.
