At MacKillop College, education involves more than academic learning with 2019 seeing the introduction of a whole school well-being program, targeting a wide range of social and emotional issues. Students participate in the "You Can Do It' program during weekly well-being sessions and address topics such as social and emotional learning, building resilience and managing anxiety. Persistence, confidence and mindfulness are just some of the positive qualities that are being developed and reinforced through this innovative program.

The whole school approach to well-being means that core values and coping mechanisms become part of everyday life, enabling the girls to manage personal and interpersonal challenges.
- Renae Marjoram, MacKillop College
One of the coordinators of the program at MacKillop College, Mrs Renae Marjoram, said their students are being equipped with skills to help them deal with life beyond the classroom. "The whole school approach to well-being means that core values and coping mechanisms become part of everyday life, enabling the girls to manage personal and interpersonal challenges". All teaching staff are involved in the delivery of the program, which is overseen by the College Leader of Well-Being and College counsellors.

Another part of the well-being program is Peer Leadership, delivered from Year 11 to Year 7 students. Small groups of Year 7 girls are mentored by Year 11 girls, assisting them with their transition to High School, while at the same time, up-skilling the leadership qualities of the senior students. One of the Year 7 students said that having a connection with the Year 11 girls and learning from their experiences made settling into MacKillop so much easier.
The holistic development of everyone who attends MacKillop College is equally as important as academic performance. All students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and show their talents in all aspects of school life. It is hoped that students achieve this aim by developing confidence and self awareness through the social-emotional learning curriculum. Enrolments for Year 7 2020 are now being taken with limited vacancies available in other year groups. For more information visit their website www.mkc.nsw.edu.au.
