The timing of this year's carnival allowed swimmers who had been tied up at national competitions in former iterations, such as Lyons, to swim.
Lyons, a Kinross Swim Club junior, made a splash at the pool on the weekend, which is of no surprise to anyone who's followed her journey over the past few years.
All up, more than 300 swimmers took to the pool at the Orange Aquatic Centre over the weekend from 28 clubs all across the state, with the longer races for older swimmers on Saturday afternoon and events taking place from 9am on Sunday.
Seven of those 28 competing clubs made the trip to the Central West from Sydney, including PLC Sydney and Knox Pymble, bringing a new level of competition to the Orange carnival.
