CSU ran in four tries in the space of seven minutes during the opening quarter at University Oval, an effort which not only was a vast improvement on the previous week's performance against Mudgee but which saw them shoot out to a 26-0 lead.
Coach Dom Huggett was delighted with what he saw, his decision to change things up for three key players working a treat.
Bridie Gordon, one of CSU's most consistently strong performers, was directed to run hard and straight rather than drifting across the field in an attempt to link up with her back line.
Jess Gann was switched into halfback and dictated the tempo of the game, while Steph Doyle moved from the fringe to be closer in to the ruck and her dynamic running split open the Rhinos' defence on a number of occasions.
"We've got 30 plus signed up, so we've been trying to work out what works best for everyone position wise. At the start we had Steph on the wing and she didn't get much ball, but at training she had a lot of energy and as a player she has a touch background so she can pass a lot and is not scared at all," Huggett explained.
"So we've moved her to hooker, Georgia [Verwey] starts there but Steph helps out and has done an unreal job. I also put her at halfback towards the end to see how she went there - she went awesome.
"We've also changed Bridie's game up just a tad, she's been running a bit sideways lately, she we straightened that up and it made a world of difference.
"She dragged in a lot of defenders and as soon as our other players learn to run off her better, it will be really exciting.
"Jess played at halfback because Laura was out after having stitches. I told Jess just to slow it down a bit because we had been playing too rushed and too panicky lately.
"She slowed it down to the perfect tempo, Bridie was set, she straightened up and made some strong runs."

It was Gabby Downing who opened scoring in the third minute when she found space up the middle of the ruck and from the resulting kick-off, a strong Doyle charge carried CSU back inside the 22.
While the Rhinos looked to have been given a reprieve the back of a CSU error, Gordon stripped the ball from the arms of a rival and spread play to the right wing and CSU was in again.
Moments later Jacinta Cooper broke away down the right wing, running 40 metres to score, and when Gann linked with Grace Fairall for try four the students were well in control.
Early in the second quarter Gann went over herself after fending off a rival and while the Rhinos finally scored five out from half-time, by then CSU led 31-5.
While Huggett rotated his bench on in the final 20 minutes, the students went on to an impressive bonus-point win.
"I was very happy with the performance overall. There were a lot of set pieces they executed and that was the first time we really ran with depth and width," Huggett said.
"The style we played at the start, they almost couldn't get a hand on us, so I was very happy with that."
