The former Stannies first XV skipper is a member of the Junior Wallabies squad which is vying for glory at the World Rugby Under 20s Championships in Argentina.
Abra and his Australians have been placed in the same pool as Italy, Ireland and England - a pool they currently top after starting the tournament with a gritty win.
It was on the back of a strong defensive effort that the Junior Wallabies posted a bonus-point 36-12 win over Italy in Santa Fe, talented prop Abra injected off the bench in the 66th minute.
At that stage the Australians were leading 36-0 and on track to make it three games in succession this season without conceding a point.
While they were unable to keep their line intact, that the Junior Wallabies stood up against the physical Italians was a promising sign.
"I think we found our feet in the back end of that first half and luckily we were able to put seven points before we went into the sheds," captain Fraser McReight said.
"The last two games we've played we've actually kept the teams scoreless so it would've been nice to keep Italy on zero but it wasn't that way."
The next assignment for Abra will be against Ireland on Saturday night, with the clash against England to be played on Thursday.
