Parade saw that, out of the six baby photos published in the newspaper on Tuesday, five of them were baby girls.
It made Parade wonder if it pointed to a pattern, and in some ways it did.
Going back through the archives, she found that 38 baby girls have been photographed this year, compared to 34 boys.
There were also three sets of twins, two of those sets being twin girls, while the third set was a girl and boy.
Of course, not everyone chooses to publish birth announcements, but this small sample likely speaks for the true data of births in Bathurst.
SELLING HOUSES IS JUST THE START
WHAT a way to get around.
A few months ago the Western Advocate published a story about One Agency Bestwick Real Estate's new vehicle.
While its purpose is to assist in the operations of the agency, the team is also happy to make the first-class Mercedes van available for events and it appears that it is already getting some use.
Parade saw on social media that the vehicle, decked out with the One Agency branding, was used for transport for a wedding.
There were even ribbons added to the bonnet for the occasion.
If you've ever wondered if the team would be willing to help you for a community event, this story almost guarantees you'll be eligible.
DAY TO GET THOSE ODD JOBS DONE
PARADE has always thought that people used public holidays to relax, but as it turns out, Bathurst residents prefer to get things done.
While driving around on Monday, Parade passed multiple people out doing jobs such as tree removal and painting.
This wasn't just at residential addresses, but at businesses as well.
Some people were working away inside, while others were rugged up outdoors to give their premises as facelift.
It just goes to show how industrious this community is.
