The side, coached by the Bathurst Giants' Jayarna Kay, features some big names and representation from all five Central West clubs, with 11 of the 21 players hailing from the Giants or Bushrangers.

AFL Central West Football Operations Manager Casey White said that this positive step in developing women's football.

"Our competition, now in its fifth season, is an established one in the Central West," he said.

"The ladies need additional opportunities to develop and this fixture compliments the strong Youth Girls program we have. These ladies have the opportunity to now be role models for our juniors as there is a local representative goal for them.

"Last season we had our inaugural Northern Suns vs Southern Thunder Intra-league representative fixture. That was a huge success and now we are able to combine those teams together to play an external opponent."

Giants' Katie Kennedy is the vice-captain while Orange Tigers' Amy Symons.

Brooke Alexander, Laycee Covington, Elise Gullifer, Danita Lane, Tamara Thompson (Giants), Donalee Delahunty, Alora Dickson, Bethanie Durham, Abby Hardie and Pagan Harrison-Brown (Bushrangers) are the other Bathurst players selected in the team.

Kay is looking forward to working with the talented squad.

"This team brings a lot of strength throughout our spine with players like Danita Lane, Seeanna Lindsay, Jemma Neuman (both Tigers) and Bethanie Durham," she said.

"Another key player who will assist that spine is Eloise Hiller-Stanbrook (Parkes), who has recently played in the 2019 Under-18 AFL NSW/ACT Rams Youth Girls side.

"This team comes with a great level of skill, experience and competitiveness."

The match takes place July 6 at the Nowra Showground, 1pm.
