St Pat's are currently on equal points with Panthers - with six - after two rounds and will this Saturday take on a Wanderers side that have conceded 14 goals already in their opening two matches.

St Pat's player Shane Conroy doesn't expect an easy game from their Orange counterparts.

"It's a fairly even competition. I think anyone on their day can sort of cause an upset," he said.

"I definitely won't be taking them lightly. Last year I think they beat us in the second round.

"They're young and fit, so definitely, on their day they can score a few goals."

On their last outing to Lithgow, St Pat's were up 2-0 courtesy of goals from Brent Naylor and Fletcher Norris.

Naylor opened the scoring for the visitors, scoring from a penalty corner, while 15-year-old Norris scored in his first game on a full field, after previously playing 9s.

Panthers would go on to score two goals from Nic Milne to deny St Pat's the four points.

Conroy said his side had mixed feelings about being denied a win in the away trip to Lithgow.

"We were happy to take points away but in saying that, we were disappointed we let that one slip," he said.

"We probably should've won that one but anyway, it doesn't matter. We'll just take the points and reset again for this Saturday."

St Pat's will take on the three-time defending champions at the Bathurst Hockey Complex, with the game set to get underway from 1.50pm.
