Smith was one of 79 veterans who competed, holding off former Bathurst Golf Club club captain Manuel Pro in a countback.
The B grade winner was Desmond Fisher from Wentworth with 37 points, who outflanked Dave Gillard (Wellington). He was disappointed with his second nine score of 16 after notching up 20 points on the front nine.
The Ex Services Club featured in the ladies competition, with Sue Gander winning with 35 points in front of compatriot Lesley Wright, who amassed 30 points.
Closest to the pins were Jeremy Tadman, Gerry O'Neill, Bruce Isbester and Rex England and 30 balls were handed out down to 32 points.
The next veterans event will be at Duntryleague on July 8 and the return visit to the Blue Mountains competition will be at Wentworth Falls Golf Course on July 1; please let Pro know by email if you are interested in attending.
