The library is hosting its monthly book sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with over a thousand books on offer.
After traditionally hosting a sale once a year, the library made the decision to host a monthly one starting in January due to staffing reason.
Library cataloguer Shane Summerton said the books are a mix of old books and donated ones.
"A lot of the books we've got have been donated, but some of them are old library books that have been replaced by a new copy or an updated version," he said.
"We don't allow more than three copies of one book on the shelf, so if we get extras, we put them into the book sale.
"We get over 100 books donated each month."
Books will vary in price from 50 cents to $3, with categories ranging from adult non-fiction, adult fiction, junior non-fiction and junior fiction.
If books are not sold after three sales, they are then either donated to the Lifeline Central West or to the Bathurst Jail.
The book sale will run from 10am to 6pm on Friday and will run from 10am to 3pm on both Saturday Sunday.
