THEY began Saturday sitting in third place on the women's Premier League Hockey ladder, but by the time St Pat's walked off the turf in Lithgow later that afternoon they held top spot.

Their 3-1 win over Lithgow Zig Zag, Bathurst City upsetting Orange CYMS and Lithgow Panthers docked competition points for fielding an ineligible player all worked to lift the Saints into first.
Naturally it was a very happy Saints coach Jaden Ekert on Saturday evening, especially given his side's away win came against a much stronger Zig Zag line-up than they had met earlier in the season.
"They had seven players come back from Canberra to play, as I knew they would, but my girls played really good," Ekert said.
"It made their team quite different with those girls back, they are quite a good side.
"It took us probably 15 minutes to wake up, we were really disorganised for some reason. But we fixed that and then in the second quarter we came out and banged two really good team goals."

It was Sarah Watterson and Millie Fulton who found the back of the net to give the Saints a 2-0 advantage at half-time.
In the third quarter the hosts were able to capitalise on a scramble inside the circle to pull it back to 2-1, that effort giving them a sniff of a surprise result.
But five minutes into the final quarter a Watterson special assured the Saints made it four wins in succession.
"Watto scored with an absolute ripper of a tomahawk into the right hand roof of the goal mouth with about 10 to go," Ekert said.
"It was a good win. After that first quarter we stuck to our structures, re-set ourselves and played really well.
"We were on top for the majority of the game, we didn't have any real issues or stresses. Lilli [goalkeeper Lilli-Rai Campbell] probably touched the ball three or four times in that second half of the game."
Ekert nominated Watterson, Maddy Boyce and Kristy Ekert as the best for the Saints.
