ST Pat's have scored at least 200 points more than any of their Group 10 league tag rivals so far in season 2019, but it was defence that had skipper Mish Somers most pleased last Saturday.

The Saints ran in five tries in the opening half at Jack Arrow Oval against Bathurst Panthers to set up a 32-0 win and as much as that attacking effort was impressive, Somers felt the clean sheet was more important.
It was the third time this season the Saints had held a rival scoreless.
"To hold them out, especially as they came out firing in the second half, yeah that was really good," Somers said.
"Our defence held up and that is probably something we've been working on most this year. It's good to see that's actually working for us."

Just as the Saints boast the best attacking record, averaging just under 38 points per game, in defence the blue and whites have proved extremely tough to crack. On average they concede just one try per game.
It is the sort of record that has the Saints on track to defend their premiership crown, but Somers knows her side must keep improving given the quality of their rivals.
"Everyone is clicking, it's taken us half a season but we've finally got there," the captain said.
"We are going well, but it is a good competition. Our game against Blayney was really close, Blayney and Hawks are probably the top ones up there.
"On their day they are amazing football sides. So we've just to stick with it and hopefully we can get there."
