Last Thursday night in Bathurst, more than 50 people attended the launch at BMEC of two exciting new Charles Sturt University Graduate Certificate courses, available to study in 2020: the Graduate Certificate in Case Management and Co-ordinated Care, and an innovative and flexible approach to community education with our new Graduate Certificate in Community Leadership and Resilience.
What is different about these courses is they were co-created by you - people and industries in our communities - to ensure they provide the educational outcomes that are really needed in our communities.
IN OTHER NEWS AT CSU:
CSU conducted a number of "co-creation" workshops across our NSW footprint last year in order to learn what our communities really needed in terms of education now and into the future.
The project team, made up of senior academic staff and strategic planning staff, were overwhelmed by the positive and practical feedback from people so willing to share their time, knowledge and passion to help the university gain valuable insights and determine the direction we could take in developing new education offerings.
The result was the creation of the two courses launched last week, with more in the pipeline.
Graduate Certificate in Community Leadership and Resilience
What came back strongly from the community workshops was a need for connected, capable leaders with a strong understanding of communities and a passion for building resilience.
This course is ideal for people working in any type of community-focused role. It will challenge people to rise to their potential and shape the leaders we need.
The course is made up of a suite of micro-subjects that can be taken as one-off Professional Development units (ideal for local government, not-for-profits and business) or can be gradually stacked together to build towards a full Graduate Certificate qualification.
Subjects within this course include Media Production for Community Engagement, Networking and Building Partners and Designing, Implementing and Evaluating Projects.
Graduate Certificate in Case Management and Co-ordinated Care.
This course is about developing case management professionals who have an understanding of the diverse sectors in which case management skills are used, including disability services, aged care, criminal justice and professional health and allied health.
