In beating the Orange Tigers 12-13-85 to 0-0-2 in the annual Katrina Hobby Memorial Shield match, the Giants opened up an eight-point gap over second-placed Bathurst Lady Bushrangers on the ladder.
Given the Giants have three games left to play in the regular season to the Lady Bushrangers' two, that two of those are against strugglers Cowra and Parkes and that the Liz Kennedy coached outfit has a far superior percentage, the minor premiership seems secured.
But Kennedy knows her currently undefeated side must continue their hard work to ensure they stay on top.
"The job's not done, we've got to play Orange again next week. I'm sure they won't be happy having a had a hard game and losing like that, so they'll be back with a vengeance," she said.
While the Giants managed to restrict Orange to just two behinds in Saturday's match at George Park 1, Kennedy said it was still a tough, physical contest.
However, the Giants stuck to their structures well to notch up win number eight for the season.

"They turned up with 16 and the scoreboard definitely doesn't reflect the match. My girls were sore and sorry after the match, they played their hearts out," Kennedy said.
"The first quarter obviously set us up, we kicked five goals in that first quarter and got the lead. Then we just continued to work on our structures, what Mick [Sloan] and I have been working on with them at training, and we were able to put that out on the paddock again.
"We moved Brooke Alexander from the back line into the forward line and that seems to be working really well. We had Layee [Covington] and Mariah [Gilchrist] in the back line and Olivia Flood now - she's as solid as a rock. Again I'm just blessed I can go out there to the girls and say 'I'm going to try this' and they just respond to it."
