He steered the six-year-old gelding to victory as a $9 chance in the Group 3 Macarthur FC Pace (1,609 metres).
Two weeks after Turnbull guided Courtinsession to victory in the Group 3 Lazarus At Yirribee Free For All as a $21 outsider, he again got the job done for his father-trainer Steve Turnbull.
Despite a tricky barrier 11 draw and doing a power of work three wide early on, Courtinsession beat home stablemate Joes Star Of Mia - the $2.40 favourite driven by Mitch Turnbull's sister Amanda - by a short half head in a blistering 1:50.5 mile rate.
That took Turnbull's tally of winners for the season to 53 - four of those being at metropolitan tracks - and has him on target for his best ever season in the gig. His best run thus far came in 2016-17 when he steered 64 victors.
