CSU lost to Saturday's opponents in the 2018 preliminary final, going down by a try in the second-half of extra-time after the scores were locked at 34-all at full-time but on Saturday CSU will have the chance to deny Parkes a play-off spot for 2019.
CSU have already wrapped up second place but Parkes - who sit in fifth place - will require a bonus point win and hope Blayney Rams lose and don't pick a bonus point in their final round match with the Mudgee Wombats.
The last time CSU travelled up to Parkes, the students came up with a hard-fought 13-0 win.
Conyers knows it'll be a tough match again, especially considering number 8 Fale Leva has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to an injury.
"Last time we went up there we beat them 13-0, so we had to work really hard to beat them," he said.
"But they're still a chance of making the play-offs. I think they've got a few guys coming back and they need a bonus point to make the semi-finals, so you'd imagine they'll be turning up to play.
"We did sustain a pretty serious injury last week to our number 8 Fale Leva, with a crushed bone.
"He has been a real weapon for us, playing really well throughout the season.
We're probably going to try and rest a few guys, because we've had a few guys get busted in the past few weeks.
- CSU coach David Conyers
"It was devastating when he showed up to training on Tuesday night on crutches."
Conyers is hoping to rest some of his players in the match, leading into the semi-finals.
"We're probably going to try and rest a few guys, because we've had a few guys get busted in the past few weeks," he said.
"I'd like to give them a spell or less game time. That's important feature, that we our players well and their injuries."
The last time the two teams played was in Bathurst and the match was far from competitive, with the host storming to a massive 80-5 win.
Regan Hughes bagged five tries that day, while Harry Hunt and Nick Plunkett also found hat-tricks in the big 12-tries-to-one victory.
Whatever happens on Saturday, Parkes will be hoping they get much closer than last time.
Saturday's game between CSU and Parkes kicks off at 3.15pm, Northparkes Oval.
