An icy blast across the Central Tablelands is forecast to see single-digit maximum temperatures on Friday and Saturday, along with the chance of snow.
The Bureau of Meteorology's MetEye website forecasts the first light falls of snow to begin to the south of Bathurst near Jenolan Caves on Thursday night, becoming more widespread through Friday and Saturday.

The peak snow period, at this early stage, looks to be around 7am on Saturday when Bathurst can expect to be surrounded by a whiteout to the east, west and south of the city.
Again, however, there appears little chance of snow in the Bathurst CBD and suburbs.

Even better news is the likelihood of rain across the region towards the end of the week.
The bureau says there is a 70 per cent of up to four millimetres of rain on Thursday, a 90 per cent chance of up to eight millimetres of rain on Friday and an 80 per cent chance of up to six millimetres of rain on Saturday.
